Central Saskatchewan Canada | Thought I would let you guys know what worked for us and what didn’t for battling the ear infections on 6-700 pound calves weaned for 3 weeks in good weather then a cold and snowy week.
First calves treated with micotil and meticam. They got somewhat better but still had a hanging ear. Came back with nuflor and it straightened them out.
Second calves we tried draxxin and meticam. It was very slow to work as you guys mentioned it would. Came back a day or so later with nuflor and fixed them up.
Third calves we hit with nuflor right away with meticam and they cleared up.
I’m going to try zeleris which is nuflor and meticam together.
The highest temps I had was 105.1 the weird thing is you could hardly pick them out from the healthy calves except for an ear that was just starting to hang. If I missed pulling the calf, by the next day their ear was hanging very low.
Thanks for all the feedback and I thought I would let you guys know what seems to be working so far “here”
