Been using central Illinois poultry at about $5 each for whole birds, they are USDA inspected so that might matter.
Usually do 60 in spring, thinking is have a few sell help cover the costs. Wife took some to the farmers market along with our beef for something different ended up selling all them.
Had to do a late batch for us but I was up against the clock for CIP switching to turkeys and they were small so I’m disappointed. Had some nice 6-8lb birds now I got 3
