You don't need cell service. Ideally you put a small tablet in the combine on a mount and just keep the libra app open. Anytime you get close enough to the cart the weight will start showing on the tablet.
When I first started using tmy old iPhone 6 without a SIM card as the dedicated display for the rear camera on my combine, I found that it worked fine but soon "put itself to sleep" if I didn't touch the screen. I changed a setting somewhere so that it stays "awake". This means it will stay active while I drive home without me needing to interact with the app fairly often. I usually force it off while actually harvesting since I don't need the camera then. |
