Central, IA | The router swap wasn't necessarily in response to anything to do with ntrip. I have slowly installed a bunch of ubiquiti unifi network equipment over the last few years, but it was still plugged into a netgear router because I was putting off the shutting the network down long enough to configure the new one. I was getting enough devices on the network, I was periodically running into IP address conflicts. Installing the Unifi router will allow me to assign static IP's easier to some DHCP only equipment.
My ISP is actually owned by a relative and operates out of my office, so port blocking and static IP's aren't a problem.
My biggest issue with snip usually relates to the serial port connection to the computer. The 6500 base is mounted on top of the grain leg from when I ran 900mhz radios. I have a fiber running up to a switch on top connected to a serial port to ethernet converter. My computer has a virtual serial port via the network. When I added the ntrip server, I was still running radios on some receivers so had the option of both. Sometime I will probably relocate my base somewhere on ground level as we don't really use radios anymore. | |
