Mazon, IL | I had a well drilled a couple years ago in northern Michigan. 100’, 4” casing. Tested positive for coliform. I poured 1/2 gallon of concentrated bleach into the well then pumped the well, recycling the pumped water back into the top of the well. Ran this for about an hour. Foam from the bleach was pouring out of the top of the well. This pumped bleach water was going through my pressure tank and a hose. Let it sit overnight then pumped again dumping the water out on the ground. Pumped till I couldn’t smell the bleach anymore. That took an hour of pumping at about 15 gallons/minute. Passed the test after that. | |
