Near Intersection of I-35 & I-90 Southern Mn. | It is important to know how your valves should be wired.
If you have ball valves, there are at least two styles of wiring. One type uses 12V constant power on one leg, Constant ground on another leg and the controller sends 12V to the third leg when it wants the valve to open. Hopefully you have this style and may just need ground on that third leg.
Another style uses 3 wires with a pair of wires that is either + on one and - on the other or the opposite. One polarity opens the valve, the other polarity closes it.
You should be able to decide from the Raven wiring as to which style you have.
