NW Iowa | So nobody has mentioned a two cylinder Deere? I won't list a two banger as being a favorite either and I grew up on them and still have a few, one is used fairly regularly on the farm for small things. My age is showing here. My favorite go to tractor is an SC case, yes it is small and can't do much but it is easy on and off and the hand clutch is handy for me since I grew up with the hand clutch. one of my SC's has a left hand hand clutch. That sucker is unhandy as all get out and will be going down the road sometime soon. Next is the Oliver 88, snappy, smooth running and easy steering for manual steering. Third is the 4650 Deere with power shift. Last is the 1086 loader tractor and it is not in fourth place because of the shifting. Getting in and out of the cab takes more effort for a loader tractor for an older guy. The cab forward design is nice for a loader tractor though. | |
