SE SD | When did the CRP contract start? If the CRP contract has already started you wont be able to do any haying on it till after the primary nesting season. And it will be managed haying and have a 25% reduction in penalty. You cant hay it now if its in CRP, would be double dipping. Getting paid for CRP, and getting paid for harvesting a crop. On a new CRP, more than likely hes going to have to kill the existing stand of grass/alfalfa and plant it to a new mixture recommended by the NRCS. He would receive cost share for seed bed prep, and also for grass seed and seeding. | |
