According to the officer that gave a guy I know a ticket for such activities. You have to complete the pass without breaking the speed limit AND be back in your lane before the no pass line.

That's the official rule.
As practiced it appears that about 50% of drivers believe that a no passing zone only applies if passing regular vehicles. It is fair game to pass farm equipment ANYWHERE!
