Funny how this stuff works. Up here, where there's more than a little soft white wheat, the buyers go out of their way to accommodate growers in order to maintain quality. For instance, no drying charge for wheat at 20% or less. Of course, they shrink it, but man that makes a huge difference in timeliness of harvest, keeping falling numbers high and reducing the issue of sprouts. Too, it really buffers the hit you can take to test weight each time mature wheat goes through a wetting/drying cycle.

I'll tell you the truth: I can't adequately display my appreciation for the good work and accommodations Star of the West Milling and Cooperatve Elevator Co and I'm sure others, provide in crop and through harvest. These guys know what service means!
