Conger, MN | I don't think the transition to EV will be (or should be) that rapid. It will happen, but these are the issues I see slowing things down:
1. Cost of the vehicles
2. Limited number of charging stations
3. Limited power grid.
More charging stations are coming on line, and the cost of vehicles is coming down -- as mentioned above. However, how does the country deal with the power grid issues? Maybe they get resolved as time goes . . .
Other questions:
1. How is the revenue produced via gas tax replaced?
2. Can the batteries improve in a way that reduces their weight? Adding all of those added pounds would seemingly add more wear and tare to the roads . . . .which means the loss of gas tax revenue becomes more problematic.
Maybe someone has the answers already, and I just have not seen them. | |
