Holland, Indiana (SW IN)
placement of fertility would be a #1 concern of mine with what you are doing
Heck you are getting a stand (except where it washes out)
We have been through the same over the years --do any tillage with a 1" coulter, row cleaners or even a 2X2 single disc fert ---look like your washout pic

I like putting fertilizer 32% N and 10% Thiosul on each side "out the Back" (we use 15 gal)
In two bands 2" or less from the slit --I like 1-1 1/2" or corn takes too long to green color --band fertilizer does not get tied up in the residue as easily as sprayed on
We have air lift row cleaners on "rolling ground" usually up unless the CC is thick and tall
I have at times picked up row cleaners in areas with steep slopes (up and down in steep areas) leave a 5' non row cleaned area every 50' or so
We have a Case planter --we like only the double disc openers doing the ground engagement
My pics show "conceal" fertilizer set up Never used then am selling them

When we side dress N we cut off the knives on our liquid applicator --just a slit cut or the knives tear too much dirt loose
OR just drag hoses and no ground loosening when side dressing N on steeper ground
