Subject: RE: Is there any way I can have good looking notill corn

The planter's ability to deal with the residue has really been the least of my worries. The Case planter is a no-tilling monster. It will get every seed where it needs to be, regardless of what I do with my row cleaners. 2 weeks ago, I would have argued that I had some of the nicest looking stands around. My issue is this V4 timeframe right before the corn is about to take off. Some corn takes off, other spots turn yellow and stagnate. I just don't have the fertilizer in the root zone where it needs to be. We've no-tilled for 30 years here, and I think bigger yields are creating new challenges. My hope is to find a solution that doesn't require a complete overhaul of the current system.
