Let me guess.. you have a John Deere or kinze planter. Not trying to start a color war but with the 2 step closing system you don’t have near as much row washing behind a red planter (yes we’ve run both colors and it’s no comparison on that part of it). Otherwise we’ve always found that planting really early in notill is often a gamble that doesn’t pay.. without knowing where you are I would say you don’t want to be the first one to the field. Gotta remember that the idea of notill is less crusting if it turns hot and dry and keeping moisture in the seed trench too, it’s all a give and take everything has a potential drawback.
