We harrow our organic after planting. Beyond the dry weather, the harrow dried it out to powder (keeps most weeds from sprouting). 3/10 seemed to wet it all the way down to old moisture line somehow.

Best organic crops for me are when it stays dry a couple three weeks after planting. Corn/beans shoot up while weeds do not. When if finally rains, you have a deep rooted crop that is far ahead of weeds.

But mother nature is never cooperative. She'll give me my dry spell, probably in july LOL


Gotcha. I can see this being a purrrfect scenario for organic.
If you planted to moisture. Lol
Yeah 3/10 can be enough if you have some moisture underneath to “come together” with and well sealed (not cloudy) on top. And not 100 degrees!
I like your chances of catching enough rain where you’re located. Good start for you.
