S Illinois | Cant do irrigation at least economically. Way way too far for pulling from a river and unlimited ground water is not close. There is a reason irrigation is in like the Columbia river bottoms on the west side or the Wabash river bottoms on the east side and practically non-existent when one get 10 miles away from either river. Less than 1% of IL wheat is irrigated. | |
