If we get more than one year of sub 5 dollar corn, that coupled with 8 percent interest will have a drastic effect on land. Especially the rougher parcels. I think a 20% decrease in that scenario is a given. perhaps a little more. Not saying it will stay down, but in the end there has to be a certain level of cash flow to make things work.
I suspect people will walk away from over inflated cash rent deals as well. | |
