Since my post double posted  I'll add.  More Presidental sites in the Midwest.  

Reagan's boyhood home in Dixon, IL..  They had a couple of volunteers telling stories about Reagan and there was a movie to watch.   I haven't visited Tampico, IL the birthplace of Reagan.   Grant's home and history in Galena.   There is also a  Museum of Grant in  St.  Louis at Grant's Farm.    Won't be long there will be  an Obama Library in Chicago.  Of course I'm sure you've done Hoover in West Branch.  

There are many places around Springfield, IL for Lincoln.   New Salem where he grew up.   Lots of historical markers where he tried cases  or  Lincoln Douglas Debates.   But,  you'll need to be on the 2 lane highways for most of those.   

I know that the Pony Express has something in St.  Joe.    

There is a nice Holiday Inn Express walking distance from the Dodge City Museum and tourist area.   It is also next to the Long Branch Lagoon water park.
