| My dad and some neighbors owned a 60w at one time. Something similar happened to it. I think the chain that drove the knotter got loose and jumped some teeth and got it out of time, but the safety dog stopped the plunger and saved the needles. We thought it was a good dependable baler. It was one of the first 50 of a pilot run in 1956. I remember they had a JD 116 baler before that baled the needles. Those safety dogs were a good deal. The knotter on the Oliver looked very similar to the one on a New Holland. | |
