Our New Holland plastic twine baler requires the needles to be pulled back into the home position. There is also a latch that resets after the knots are made which will have to be reset manually. As the baler ties; the arm comes up, triggering the knotters to tie, then after completing the cycle the knotters and needles are reset to home position. I hope that helps. I assume the wire tie has a similar system.
