southern MN | You are not allowed to turn into a far lane with a regular vehicle. You were in the wrong.
Everyone does to set up for their next turn. But it’s wrong and you would be at fault if an accident.
Turn into the closest lane.
Then merge into the other lane when you have room. As a separate maneuver, not both together.
I don’t have semi or bus experience so don’t know their rules. I assume they need to wait to have both lanes clear but because they are bigger and in a hurry they just turn and everyone else has to get out of their way. *
