Right on red in in Indiana is: Pull up to intersection, Stop and check for traffic if clear then you are allowed to turn. You cannot just drive through a red light. If you are making a right turn on red or green you need to turn into your closest lane. If you are a truck or bus you have to allow the traffic to clear. Just because I'm bigger does not mean I have the right-a-way.
I'm not sure what the yellow and black cars were thinking. Your and their light would have to be green for them to enter the intersection and be able to cross traffic. Unless the light turned red while they were waiting to make their turn, then they can clear the intersection.
I've driven trucks and cars in most all the states, here is the best rule" Better to be Safe than Sorry!"



Your post made me realize i made a mistake in the post above.

This all happened when the light turned green.....not red.

It turned green and then we about hit each other.
