yeah, if the flow is being choked off on one section specifically, I'd reckon strainers would be the way to go. Less likely, but on a machine of that age as well, make sure the supply hose isn't collapsed too. I know back in 2010-2013 they had some hose that was unsheathing inside and actually collapsed. It was more on the suction side of things though, but if you are out walking the section, wouldn't hurt to take a look and feel the hose along the way in case you see anything suspicious.
