Subject: Underbed saddle tanks on flatbed pickup

North Central US
Is there any particular reason why they do not exist? I know its not 1973, but I figured someone would make them. I'm not interested in more tool boxes but the idea of 1000 miles or more between refueling is interesting and attractive to me. Is there any reason why I shouldn't take tanks off, say a GMC C7000, and put them on? Then T into the main tank's filler or vent pipe and transfer fuel on the go with one of those small Napa fuel pumps(the type made for replacing mechanical fuel pumps) and have a switch for each side.

It is a Diesel pickup, so side impacts to the fuel tank isn't a big concern.
