Central Kansas | Kinda looks like wheat streak mosaic to me, although in your area I wouldn't think that should be much of a problem. Its caused by a curl mite that lives in volunteer wheat and other grasses. We have to make sure all volunteer wheat is dead for a couple weeks before planting so that it doesn't infect the planted wheat. I've also seen it along the edges where brome grass borders the wheat. Unfortunately, I don't think there is much of a treatment option at this stage, and if the infection is bad it can cause serious yield loss. | |
