mercer county, il | I guess it depends on which side of it you stand. I’m guessing if the trespassers were on the other side of it, they’d be just as mad. They might say they’d allow access, but I doubt they would.
At the end of the day, if you want access? Ask the private landowner. We have people trespass regularly to access this or that, and insist I can’t block access, that river is public. The water is public. The bank, I pay taxes on. Use a boat, ask a neighboring landowner, etc.
Corner crossing is no different. Once they’re there, by whatever legal means necessary? Dont harass them, like the ranch did. I regularly talk to people fishing or kayaking and don’t mind it. I have limited access for a reason, and it’s not because people were being respectful and clean. | |
