| I had a Hardee version and it was pretty tough. If you jam it up the hydraulic motor just stops turning until it gets freed up. Works better on small trees and brush than grass as grass tends to stall it out. Mine had a clamp on low pressure return hose back to the tank that some brush pulled off once and drained the tank of oil. I replaced it with a high pressure hydraulic hose and haven't had that issue again. If you only want to mow the top 4-5 of a ditch or maybe 5-6 ft high on a hedge row you'll be ok. If your ditches are deeper or hedgerows higher look for a long reach mower. One warning, these rotary mowers throw stuff a long way so you'll have to be careful along a road. I suspect the disk mowers don't throw stuff as far. Around here the highway departments use flail mowers mostly.
