Central Alabama | Yeah, I remember after 2020 they said we would have a WHIP+. We were having cotton quality issues with seed coat fragments and other grade issues costing up to .09 cent a lb deducts.
Along with an average yield at 700lbs we were within 30-50 lbs of hitting an insurance payment on a lot of it. They were saying then would probably need to be getting together grade reports for WHIP+.
2021 was a little better with an 800 lb yield average and grades were better but no extra cotton when prices got better. Most of our insurable yields are between 900-1100 lbs. | |
