Melancthon, Ontario | I have baled with an H and I dont recommend it. For starters it is barely enough power so she will have to be running in tip top shape. Because its shy on power for the job its more prone to throwing sparks. Its possible to bale without live PTO, but its a pain and if you hit the clutch just as it goes to tie a bale you could possibly have to dig the baler out and retime it.
I get that its a cheap tractor to get a guy going but not worth the hassle. Also, its OLD..... I wouldnt expect it to work many days without breakdowns. Mine and my friends 70+ year old tractors are broken more then they are running bc we try to use them a little but they are old and tired, should really just be toys at this point.
When that H was new the baler that it would have been paired with had its own engine. | |
