Subject: RE: Farmall h as a first tractor

Middlesex County, Ontario
A Farmall H is fine to own for fun or nostalgia, but if you want to be successful and profitable then I think you would really be doing yourself a favour by buying something with these features

- A live PTO
- A 3pt hitch. A real 3 pt hitch, not some conversion hitch.
- A drawbar. A real drawbar that is a beefy bar of steel that connects to the tractor's rear end and can support a vertical load, not some flimsy aftermarket thing that clamps around the rear axle.
- At least one dual acting hydraulic outlet, capable of at least 2200 psi. Not a single acting 800 psi outlet.
- A diesel engine

If you buy a tractor with these features then it will always have utility on the farm. The Farmall H has none of the things in the list.
