N.E. MO | I’ve come to the conclusion, reading on this site, that Kelly Diamond Harrows must not be as prevalent in other areas as they are here. Lots of them in this area. By far, our most used tools on the farm.
I believe you could continue what you’re doing, but hit it with the diamond harrow instead of the field cultivator and plant. Better yet, hit it with the diamond harrow after discing in the fall. Harrow again in spring and then plant. Worst case, you could run the field cultivator and then the diamond harrow.
We ripped a lot of ground with 2730 rippers last fall and followed that with the diamond harrow. Harrowed again this spring ahead of the planter. I see us doing a lot more of this, as well as it worked. | |
