"Here" I would pull the starter off and take it to my rebuilder and have it checked/rebuilt. If it's much more than brushes, they usually recommend swapping for a gear reduction.
If yours is the standard truck 12V, it's probably a 39mt. Several options on where to buy online or local starter shop or a truck shop. The new ones are able to be "clocked" to fit, and being aluminum, and smaller are much easier to install.
