If the previous corn crop was 225, I'd say he has decent dirt and all the beans he needs for 75 bushel. It works like that here anyway.


Plenty of acres here over 225 more than once in the last few years and my comment still holds true, but we have clay pan soils. 2 years in a row adjacent fields with similar situation to OP. First year field was in 60s and one of our better ones. Good weather that year. Next year it was our worst field by 10 bpa. Wet early then dry late. Stunted plants that never grew right and really never canopied. Everywhere is different.
