ECWI | We are planning a trip to South Dakota June 8-June 13. Plan is to hit Mt Rushmore, Custer State park, Badlands National park, Spearfish Canyon,Needles, Deadwood, Sturgis, or possible a rodeo. Will not make them all, Mt Rushmore is on my bucket list, anything else will be a bonus.
Never been to the area. Hoping to just see nature and hiking. My wife and I, 2 older kids.
Would anyone local know of any big events over that time that would draw huge crowds to stay away from?
We were hoping to get a hotel after arriving, or is it a bad idea not to reserve?
Any hints for additional sites? Good hotels and restaurants?
