Subject: RE: Fasting (not eating) and autophagy

Pittsburg, Kansas

I have to wonder if it would not help me to go to one meal a day at least for a while. Maybe kick in a little more autophagy than what I am currently getting. A year or two ago my wife and daughter experimented with some longer fasts and I did one meal a day sporadically for a few times. But never really got into it. One thing I found with one meal a day is it was hard for me to eat enough in that one setting. Just took too long. But I think in certain situations and especially for some medical conditions there can probably be great benefits from it.

Based on what Dr Mobeen said in the video, it seems to me a single mid day meal would be ideal. That gives you waking hours to get the food digested and immediate energy burned then into sleep where he says most of the autophagy has to occur.

For our lifestyle an evening meal is easiest (I normally eat lunch and then supper, 2 meals) but it does not seem ideal for autophagy, at least from what the video said.
