EC SoDak | 50 odd inches from planting to harvest if I remember correctly, then it rained some more. What didn’t help was the fall of 18 was extremely wet, then tons of snow (I think more than double of normal), then the 50 odd inches and cold all summer. We also froze twice before avg frost date and before black layer that created 48-52 lb corn. Toss in two 80+ mph wind events late July and mid August that created 20-40% greensnap and it was a miserable year.
Wet can be an issue, but as I’ve said in here numerous times, it’s the cold that really gets you. Heat and tile can at least dry things out enough to make a go of it. Most of the Belt doesn’t understand the type of cold we may have to deal with from time to time.
I ran out of room to push snow in the farm yard, so I had to create those piles and they got bigger. Lol.
