Central Alabama | June is our make it or break it for corn here but as of right now would say looking good. A lot is soil type and when planted dependent.
My early was planted on some red land but got frosted but has really come along good.
The mid was planted after the freeze but in cold soil and had flooding on the river bottoms but is finally looking good. We had a storm come through yesterday rained an inch within 15 minutes, really swept the fields and had some straight-line wind damage on these fields.
The late "for us" was planted second week of April is above waist high and looks good.
It has been a tough year getting things done here, there is corn planted from the first week of March to the end of April. I still have a 90-acre field to plant supposed to be cotton but a good chance of rain Mon & Tues. | |
