The barge market would agree with River levels not affecting values. Barge freight is begging for loads….

STL 190/210
ILLR stationed freight traded 260% yesterday and JJ package offered 280%; Oct 550/650
Mid Miss offered 340% for May slots on no bid; Last nearby reported trade was 300%
Lac/Sav offered 450% plus on no bid

Barge freight trades in percent of tariff…..Tariff rates set decades ago. St Louis tariff is $3.99 per ton.
There are 35.71 bushels of corn in a short ton…..

Stlouis Bid 190% of tariff…offered 210%……Let’s use 200.( Values from above)

$3.99 x 200= $7.98/ ton to move a ton of product from St. Louis to Center Gulf.

22.34 cents per bu if it’s corn….Your welcome to draw you own market related conclusions.
