I agree that such might be a great place to site some solar panels. I'm puzzled as to why they aren't used. If you find the guy who is in charge of not letting solar on old mine sites, I'd be happy to share my phone number so he could call me for my advise ****. Just like a lot of other instances though, my phone never rings ;-)
