| We hear a lot about boycotting companies doing things we don't like but not enough celebration for the ones doing good things.
Every spring our church buys new tennis shoes, flip flops and a pair of socks for all of the 3rd graders in the towns where we are located (over 500 students this year), this year they went through the locally own Browns Shoe Fit Store (an Iowa or Midwest chain) and the local owner reached out to Under Armour who gave us a 25% discount on the shoes. The store owner said in the 9 years he's been in business he's never seen a discount over 5% before so this was a big deal.
I was lucky enough to be able to help the kids try on their new shoes yesterday and it was an amazing thing to be a part of. For several of the kids this was the first pair of brand new shoes they've ever had and several others came in wearing shoes that were in such bad shape that they had to be painful to walk in.
