| A neighbor when I was growing up used to say a similar thing. Then I read a book written about the area that was written in the 1890's, several decades earlier than the photo's that he was using as evidence. The book talked about the same hills being covered in trees when the area was first settled. To be fair, you don't have to go very far to find Prarie areas where the lack of trees was actually prevalent before settlers. I guess my poorly made point us that it does work both ways depending on area. | |
