| I have read different sources of conflicting information that high levels clover can cause fertility issues in livestock, sheep in particular.
I have alot of red clover this year. One pasture is well over 50% clover and stockers did fine on it once it warmed up and things started growing. I'm wanting to know what I can expect and what time periods in gestation sheep are most susceptible to having problems and what if anything can be done to mitigate issues.
So far I have been using the clover pasture for stocker calves only. The calves will be gone in 3 weeks and eventually sheep will need to graze it. Rams will be pulled June 1st. Calves will be Gone June 7th. So if I want to wait 6 weeks post breeding the pasture will sit empty for 5 weeks until July15th. Will probably be hard to time everything perfect in my grazing to make that all work and Ideally I would hit it sooner.
Does anyone have experience with this?
