Pilot Grove, Missouri | I have a red maple in my front yard I planted from a seedling. About 1 year after I planted it a big storm split the "trunk" and it blew over. I stood it back up and used black electrical tape from the ground up past where the split ended to wrap it up securely. I drove an electric fence post in beside it and zip-tied it to the post so it couldn't blow over again. That was about 5 years ago and the tree is doing great and is about 8-9' tall now. | |
