Had similar tree damage during a construction project.
The tree person painted the damage with 50/50mix of Listerine and latex paint.
Then wrapped tree with open cloth, not tight, to hold bark until in grew back on the tree.
that was 12 years back and tree is doing just fine.
There is a scare in the bark but tree is growing.
Is my tree ruined? (Pics)
