| I make my appointments as soon as they start a new book which is about 18 months out. I have some going Monday and the butcher called me to see if I wanted to bring more as they had a lot of cancelations. That is the first time they've called me for more. I had a few people cancel but was able to move a few people scheduled in July. Not sure what July will bring. I think the cost of beef and processing is catching up with us. I weight and price mine live based on the high end of a good area auction. Customer pays processor and picks up their meat. The auction is further away and I'd have to pay commission and I wouldn't top the sale as I feed some heifers and smaller framed animals which aren't black. I like setting my price but don't get greedy.
