Conger, MN | Sometimes the reluctance to raise the price though is a one way street.
Do producers selling quarters get discounts from friends that owns gas stations, or is a dentist, or the neighbor that has the sporting goods store? If so, then discounting the quarter price to them makes sense. If not, they should understand why you need to raise your price on a quarter a bit.
It probably depends on the mix of people you are selling to and how much of this type of business you do. Giving discounts to 8 friends per year is different than keeping your prices low when you sell 20 head/year for quarters.
