SW Ohio | Also set on the shallowest depth, minimal down pressure. Use only the big box but have the "half" rate gears and the plastic funnel inserts. Seldom do pure alfalfa but lots of mixes with it. Every time is a challenge to get the rate set and with mixes you will get separation of light versus heavy seeds so only fill part way and stop and stir often. For instance 12# alfalfa, 6# timothy and 6# orchard I start with a setting of 25. 12# orchard alone set on 20
This was a long time ago, conventional tillage and pulled a packer behind
