Quite a few options around depending on how timely the rains are and what size equipment you run, first time we did any we used a 3pt. mounted spreader and worked it in with a cultivator, later had someone custom apply it with a sidedress rig that had a Gandy box on it, seen a drill last fall someone had set up to match 1/2 the width of the planter they had, that looked like the best bet.

Might try some test strips with the 3pt spreader ahead of the sidedress rig I have now and see how it goes, might mount a small Gandy box on mine if it works out, though I doubt the coulters on mine will disturb enough dirt for some types of seed to do well.
