Over 20 years ago, my wife and I returned from an oversea assignment.  Just on a whim, went to check on our bank safety deposit box.  They were in the process of literally tearing out all the boxes and said we were quite fortunate that they hadn't gotten to our section of the vault yet.  Never got a notice.  Sorta changes ones view of any bank.
  Lesson:  Never trust a banker and never feel sorry for a bank.  But I'm just an old f*rt so there's that.
