I’m only speculating on the fence posts but my guess is it could be that it is a leftover center from a veneering mill. ALberta Plywood in Slave Lake has bundles of posts on site that get sent for treating.

The grass and hay has really taken off in the last week since the rain we had and the 30 degree heat. I drove by a field of alfalfa tonight that is approaching knee high, way ahead of normal. I could see corn spiking through beside where I was planting canola and barley today. The neighbor said his canola planted 3-4 days ago is emerging. Pretty crazy.
I’m actually worried that we are going to return to normal temperatures and catch a frost. That would be devastating.
